Description

Matisse MM26 Transparent Gesso may be used by itself to give a translucent (not clear) underpainting primer with excellent tooth. It has been formulated to be mixed with Matisse Background Colours to give the perfect balance of “Tooth” for supports such as canvas, paper and wood, for overpainting with acrylic, watercolour, oils and alkyds. MM26 has been especially formulated as a high tooth primer for pastels, oil pastels, charcoal and graphite. It is non-yellowing, flexible and non-cracking. In a 250ml Jar. Transparent Gesso is similar to MM10 Gesso and MM25 Black Gesso only without pigmentation. This gives a transparent flexible primer for canvas, board or even paper with an excellent tooth for easy paint manipulation. If working on canvas, Matisse MM26 Transparent Gesso will tighten the canvas, making a firmer ground to paint on.

What Derivan Matisse MM26 Transparent Gesso is used for:

• As a clear primer: Use MM26 on its own for a transparent primer that offers flexibility and tooth for paint.
• As a coloured primer: Mix MM26 with Matisse Background Colours to create a coloured surface. A common ratio is 1 part MM26 to 2 parts background colour, but you can adjust this to vary the roughness of the surface.
• As a pastel primer:  Mix with background colours to create a coloured primer with added “tooth” to hold pastels, including oil pastels.
• For a higher-tooth gesso:  Use it for applications where a high-tooth surface is needed.
