NAM Standard lightweight stretcher bars serve a few specific purposes:

1. Canvas Painting

• Custom Sizes: Build frames to exact dimensions when ready-made or standard canvases do not fit your vision.
• Smooth Surface Tension: The rounded or bevelled edge of the bar prevents the canvas weave from snapping over a harsh 90-degree angle. Pull the canvas tight for an ideal painting foundation.
• Easy Framing: Slip the stretched canvases into decorative wall frames. They are light and feature a shallow profile when finished,

2. Needlepoint & Embroidery

• Hands-Free Stitching: Use the frame for holding the needlepoint canvas straight and taut, eliminating the need to hold the fabric awkwardly in your hands.
• Prevents Warping: Mount the canvas on stretcher bars to prevent it from distorting and warping as stitching places uneven tension on a canvas.
• Reduces Blocking: Keep the piece square alleviating the need for difficult, time-consuming blocking or straightening.

Buy Lightweight stretcher bars in pairs (you will need two pairs to make a complete four-sided frame) and slot together via interlocking corner joints.
