Description
Embroidery Needles are primarily used for surface embellishment of material. They feature sharp tips to pierce fabric and long eyes to accommodate thicker, decorative, or multiple strands of embroidery floss. Use Crewel Needles for techniques like surface stitching, crewel work, goldwork, and whitework. Other sewing accessories available from Atelier Art Supplies include seam rippers, thread and pins.
A set of 16 Crewel needles 3/9.
What to use these Sewing Needles for:
- Surface Embellishment & Crewel: Sharp-tipped crewel needles (sizes 3-9) are used for general embroidery to pass threads through fabric.
- Thick Threads & Ribbons: Chenille needles, which have a long eye and sharp point, are ideal for crewel work, thick wool, and ribbon embroidery.
- Counted Work & Canvas: Use the Blunt-tipped tapestry needles for cross-stitch, needlepoint, and canvas work. This is where the needle passes through pre-determined holes.
- Specialty Techniques: Use Straw or milliner needles for bullion and French knots.
- Beading: Use long, thin, sharp-pointed beading needles to pass through small beads and sequins.
Needle sizes are numbered, with higher numbers indicating smaller, thinner needles suited for finer fabrics.
