Liquin Impasto is used with oil paints to create a thick, textured, and dimensional impasto effect with a Semi-Gloss finish. It increases the body and viscosity of the paint, speeds up drying time, and retains sharp brush or knife marks. As opposed to Liquin Oleopasto which provides a semi-matte finish. Both are alkyd-based mediums that thicken oil paint to create texture and speed up drying time, but they achieve different surface sheens. The choice between them depends on the desired final appearance of the painting. A similar product is the Langridge Oleogel.
