Description

Stockmar Wax Crayons are the Wax Blocks that have outstanding drawing properties and appeal to the senses. Their size and flat shape mean they sit well in the hand and are also well suited for small children. You can draw colourful areas easily, and arrive at interesting effects. For example by dragging the long edge of the block in a wave-like fashion across the paper.

Stockmar Wax Crayons are good for various artistic and educational purposes, including drawing, painting, and a range of techniques like layering, scraping, and melting. They are praised for their high-quality, non-toxic formula made from beeswax, which provides vibrant, blendable colours with excellent coverage and smooth application. Their durability, lack of crumbling, and comfortable shape make them suitable for both beginners and more experienced artists. Other wax crayons include Micador Beeswax Crayons and the ever reliable Leviathan Wax Crayons.

Artistic applications:

• Versatile techniques: Stockmar crayons are designed to be used in multiple ways, from delicate drawings to richly applied colour blocks.
• Layering and glazing: Their translucent quality allows for layering colours and creating depth, similar to glazing techniques.
• Scraping: The colours can be scraped away to reveal colours underneath, a technique known as sgraffito.
• Melting: They can also be used with melting techniques for unique effects.
