Common uses:

• Direct application: Apply Sennelier Oil Paint Sticks directly to a surface, eliminating the need for brushes, palettes, and solvents. This makes the process faster and more immediate.
• Sketching and under-painting: Use them to quickly sketch out compositions or block in the first layers of colour, especially on large works.
• Detail work: Use oil sticks for adding final details to a painting.
• Mixed media: Combine them with traditional oil paints or other materials for mixed media projects.
• Texture and blending: Create bold, painterly effects or blend colours directly on the surface with a finger, a brush, or a blending tool.

How to use:

• Surfaces: Apply to traditional oil painting surfaces like canvas, paper, and wood panels.
• Blending: Blend colours with your fingers, a rag, or a brush. Also you can add a bit of solvent to a brush or to the stick itself to help it flow more smoothly.
• Drying: Let your finished artwork dry for at least six months before varnishing, similar to traditional oil paint.
• Cleaning: Clean up with solvents. Remove any hardened skin that forms on top before use. Scrape it, peel it or wipe it off.
