A Potters Long Blade Knife is primarily used for the following tasks:

• Cutting Slabs: Slicing through thick slabs of clay to create precise panels for hand-built pottery.
• Trimming Edges: Cutting away excess or unwanted clay from wheel-thrown models and moulds to create crisp, clean edges.
• Sculpting Greenware: Carving, bevelling, and refining details on unfired clay pieces.
• Trimming Moulds: Shaving off leftover seams or casting marks from slip-cast ceramics.
• Scoring and Joining: Cutting angled bevels into pieces of clay before scoring and slipping them together (like attaching handles to mugs).
