Pebeo Studio Gouache Starter Set is ideal for students and professionals.  It is vivid, opaque, matte and has a good lightfastness. You can mix them together and dilute them again once dry. This Pebeo Studio Gouache Starter Set contains 10 x 20ml tubes of Gouache + Brush.

Squeeze gouache onto a palette and mix with a little water to a creamy, “melted ice-cream” consistency (not watery). Apply with a brush to paper, cardboard, or Bristol board or your preferred substrate. Work quickly and keep a “wet edge” for large areas. Painting in layers and let them dry before applying a new, wet layer as this will avoid muddiness. Gouache dries to a matte finish and can be reactivated with water. For this reason store finished work to protect it from moisture.

Tips for using Pebeo Gouache:

• Remix colours often: Pigments can separate, so give the paint on your palette a stir to ensure consistent colour.
• A good brush: Use a round brush with a good point for details and edges, but have a variety of shapes and sizes handy.
• Work on light sketches: Lightly sketch your design in pencil on the paper first. The opaque nature of gouache will cover the pencil lines.
• Be mindful of water: Adding water gradually allows you to achieve the right consistency.  Go slowly, too much water can result in weak, watery colour.
