Description

This Metal Light Box is light weight and portable. Illuminated by a long life 8 watt daylight fluorescent lamp with a handy carry handle.  Also available the LED Light Box.

A light box is a versatile illuminated surface used for tasks requiring high-contrast visibility, primarily for tracing, transferring designs, and viewing transparencies (like X-rays or film negatives).

A lightbox allows an artist or designer to redraw an image multiple times, adjusting or refining it in some way each time. For example, an animator can trace the character they are drawing but then move a part of the body in a different way.

Common Uses of the Metal Light box:

• Art & Design: Tracing sketches, lettering, cartooning, animating, and transferring designs to watercolour paper without damaging the original.
• Crafts: Card making, scrapbooking, and creating intricate patterns.
• Photography: Creating professional product shots with soft, even lighting (often called a photography light box).
• Medical: Viewing X-rays, negatives, and other backlit medical images.
• Advertising & Retail: Creating eye-catching, backlit signs for stores, trade shows, and public spaces.
• Education: A calming tool in preschools for exploring colours, shapes, and storytelling with objects.

How it Works:

• A light box features a translucent surface (like frosted acrylic) with an internal light source (typically LEDs) that shines evenly through. This allows you to see details from a sheet of paper or film placed on top.
