Description

Lumograph Black Artist Pencils are premium quality artist pencils. Their special lead formulation contains a high proportion of carbon for matte, jet black results. Particularly suitable for drawing and hatching as well as for expressive sketches and portraits. Available individually or boxes of 12 in 2B, 6B & 8B or in a Set of 6 in a tin.

The Lumograph Black Artist pencils are good for creating bold, rich black tones and expressive marks in drawings.  They combine the control of a graphite pencil with the deep colour of charcoal. They are ideal for sketching, tonal work, and detailed drawings where you want to achieve dramatic shadows and smooth blends. Carbon pencils offer a less messy alternative to traditional charcoal sticks and are easy to sharpen to a fine point. Unfortunately not being entirely carbon they cannot be blended with water to create washes. For an alternative carbon pencil try the Wolff’s Carbon Pencil which is very soluble with water.
