Japanese Rice Paste (often called nori in the art world) is a traditional, starch-based paste used as a gentle, acid-free adhesive for papercrafts and as a dye resist in traditional textile design.

Use Japanese Rice Paste for:

1. Paper Crafts & Bookbinding

• Bookbinding & Collage: It is the go-to adhesive for spine linings, hinging, and collages. It allows for controlled, tidy application and won’t cause buckling or staining on fragile paper.
• Chine-Collé: Paste very thin, delicate pieces of paper onto a heavier backing sheet during the printing process.
• Reversible & Removable: Soak off pieces previously positioned and reposition without damaging the paper.

2. Traditional Textile Dyeing (Katazome / Katanori)
