Clay Wooden Paddles are available in large or small. They are excellent for shaping, forming, and flattening irregularities on the surface. Also to add strength, stability, and alter wheel forms and hand-built clay works especially with our Northcote RHB White Raku Handbuilding Clay . It is also an indispensable tool for the sculpture artist. Large are 260mm long and Small 210mm including the handle.

• Clay Compression: Gently slapping the walls increases the structural strength and density of the clay, preventing cracking during firing.
• Form Alteration: Used to transform round wheel-thrown cylinders into sharp squares, hexagons, or faceted asymmetrical profiles.
• Paddle & Anvil Technique: Coiled pots can be thinned out evenly by bracing the interior with a stone anvil while striking the exterior with the paddle.
• Texturing: Textured variants or homemade carved paddles can stamp decorative geometric patterns directly into the surface.
