Description

Schmincke Medium W #043 is a revolutionary, low-odour oil paint additive that transforms traditional oil colours into water mixable oils. This process allows artists to use water for thinning and cleaning instead of solvents like turpentine. Use it to increase the gloss and transparency of oil paint.  This harmonizes the drying process, and creates an odourless and low-solvent painting environment. When wet, the mixed colours may appear lighter or milky, but they will return to their original brilliance once dry. Combine one part Medium W with two parts of oil paint to allow you to use simple water for both thinning your paints and cleaning your tools. It is available in 2 sizes, 60ml and 200ml. Also available are Artisan Water-mixable Oil Paints and a range of water soluble mediums. 

How to use:

• Mix: Combine oil paint with Medium W#403 on a palette, typically using two parts oil colour to one part medium.
• Thin: Add water to the mixture to thin the paint to your desired consistency.
• Clean: Use soap and water to clean painting tools and brushes.
