Glass Muller & Slab are great to create professional artists paint. This kit has a handmade glass muller and a 8mm thick glass slab that is essential for grinding pigment. Perfect for the studio for manufacturing artists colours.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Langridge muller: is made of tempered glass and has a tooth on the bottom edge. Dimensions are 8cm wide x 12cm high.

Langridge Glass Grinding slab: is a 8mm thick tempered glass slab used for the manufacture of artists paint. The must have slab has an etched face for the high shear grinding of pigment with binders. These slabs are essential in the studio for production oil paint, watercolour, gouache and acrylic. Size 20 x 30cm.

Langridge Dry Pigment Into Set: Contains 8 colours in 30ml jars of high specification pigments for making your own paint or colouring existing mediums. Colours include: Arylide Yellow, Pyrrole Red, Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Green (Yellow Shade), Titanium White, Raw Sienna, Burnt Umber, Carbon Black.

• Deposit pigment: Place a small mound of dry pigment on the slab center.
• Create a well: Use a palette knife to make a crater in the pigment.
• Add binder: Pour a small amount of binder (e.g., linseed oil, gum arabic) into the crater.
• Initial mix: Mix gently with the palette knife until it forms a thick paste.
• Begin mulling: Place the muller flat onto the paste.
• Move in figure-8s: Push the muller in a figure-eight motion. Use firm, downward pressure.
• Scrape and repeat: Use the palette knife to gather spread-out paint back to the center. Mull again.

Each pigment colour needs differing quantities of binding oil to make a paste consistency suitable for application as paint.
